Here at Cal Coast Web Design we talk a lot about blogging and how if done frequently and carefully can give a much needed boost to your search engine ranking. As we’ve mentioned blogging more than a couple of times we felt it necessary to talk about how blogging can go bad and actually be detrimental to your website and your business.

As we’ve stated in the past Cal Coast encourages its clients to blog about themselves, their business, and their website using the blog that we’ve set up for you. Blogging once a day can be very beneficial to your website as each blog should contain a link back to some portion of your website. What you may not know however is that by repeatedly blogging about the same topic, or by blogging multiple times each day will cause not only your blog host to flag you as a spammer but the search engines will take notice as well. This can result in the banning and removal of not just your blog account but your website from search results as well.

The point here is basically this. By all means continue to blog once a day but stay away from using multiple blogs to discuss the same topics as this will put a a huge red flag with your name on it for all the search engines to see. You’ll also want to avoid talking about the same thing everyday and using the same keyword repeatedly to link back to your website should also be avoided. If you follows these guidelines for blogging you should see maximum benefit from your efforts. If you have any questions about how to blog properly and safely please contact us and we’ll be happy to help!
