Cal Coast Web Design often talks about making your website attractive to visitors so that they not only view your site but contact you, purchase your services/products, and keep coming back. Of course as you know a website must be pleasing to the eye to catch a visitors attention but the real reason they visit is for information. What better way to give them information than through an RSS feed.
RSS feeds have gone through several different “upgrades” over time and are now used by many websites to deliver information to its visitors in abbreviated fashion. In some respects they function like sports tickers or news scrolls by showing the viewer a summary of information. There are times when only snippets of information need updating and an RSS feed is a highly effective way to communicate these types of updates to website visitors. This way they aren’t forced to navigate through your site to find this new information.
These days RSS is an acronym for “Really Simple Syndication”. As I explained above, you can see the name speaks for itself. RSS feeds can pull information from your website and blogs and are the “in” thing. If you don’t have an RSS feed set up on your website you should consider having one implemented. Your visitors will find this very useful and will likely visit again at some point to get new information which in turn can lead to them contacting you. If you would like to learn more about RSS feeds and/or have one set up on your website please contact us!
