Hello everyone! Yesterday we spoke of things you can do in conjunction with blogging. Today we would like to offer some tips that will help ensure that your blogs and comments work well for you and your website. As we speak of blogging quite a bit and how it can benefit you, we know want to make you aware of the pitfalls that you may fall into if you’re not careful.
Cal Coast Web Design still recommends that you blog once a day on the blog we have set up for you. A blog that is updated daily will receive much more attention from search engines than say a blog that is updated only one a week or even once a month. As search engines take notice of your blog it will ultimately begin to appear when someone does a search for the products/topics you are blogging about. This in turn gives more people an opportunity to click on the links within your blog which then redirect to your website!
Some people however get into trouble when they blog to much. Over-blogging can be dangerous and can make people with blogs as well as search engines make note of your website and can then lead to the banning of posts or denial of comments. So now you may ask yourself, what is over-blogging and what do I do to avoid it?
For starters, when blogging take care and make note of sites, blogs, and forums you’ve visited and left comments on before. Even those bloggers with no malintent can be flagged as a spammer should comments appear on any one site that repeatedly speak of the same topic, or even link to the same website. Of course you can revisit these sites and leave more comments but be sure to give it some time.
Secondly, when you utilize your Cal Coast blog even once a day, take care to seed different keywords each time you create a new post and try linking to other important pages other than your homepage. Many of the free blogs out there are now removing blogs from the Internet that they believe to be spam so as a general rule be creative and do your best to address different subjects each day.
Following these guidelines will help ensure that your blogging is kept clean and online and will allow those links to your website remain live, which helps boost search engine ranking! Should you have any questions about this please contact us and we will be happy to help.
